My House of Brick Reflection

My favourite Lego activity was building the racing car because I really like testing it over and over again to see if we needed to add anything or take anything off. I also really liked how we got to be with a buddy and my buddy was Lucy. And lastly I really enjoyed racing with all of the other cars. Our car went 35cm but that was still so much fun.

My least favourite Lego activity was mosaic because I found it a bit boring and putting just little studs on a base plate is not really my type of thing. Instead  I would rather make things.

The activity that tested my perseverance the most was pass the brick because one of the rules was to not break anything but some people broke my house. I was trying to make a house. When I got my house back it was not what I was planning it to turn out like.

The most challenging activity was building the tower because we were in a group of 10 and some people were bringing it to them so not every one could reach it. Everybody was shouting and it was a bit too much.

I did not enjoy working collaboratively with others because I think it would be a bit easier working with a buddy. I did not really enjoy working in a group with 10 people crowding around a little Lego mat. It was a bit too hard.

Should School Allow Pets

Kia ora, and welcome back to my blog!

For the last 3 weeks we were in lock down. We did online school. For one of our writing tasks we had to chose a text and write a persuasive text about the topic I chose pets should not be allowed at school. our goal was:Vary sentence beginnings, structures and length. Write simple and compound sentences (by using conjunctions). Use some complex sentences. Use simple and compound sentences with a variety of beginnings, lengths and structures. Use some complex sentences to create pace, flow and interest. Use linking words and phrases to link some paragraphs.

I hope you enjoy my writing

Do you think pets should be allowed in school?

Should Pets Be Allowed At School?
In my opinion I think pets should not be allowed in school. Do you really want to be stepping in dog poo?
My first reason is, pets should not be allowed at school because some kids might be really scared of animals. Then the kids might be scared to come to school. I don’t think kids will want to be standing in the middle of the playground and there are dogs running around everywhere.
My second reason is kids might have allergies to a secretan pet. Then the Mum will have to pick their kid up and go to the doctors. And you definitely don't want to go home early. I mean I wouldn't.
Finally my last reason is some pets might get lost and then the kid will be really sad that they lost their pet. I know that the parents will get mad if they find out that their pet got lost.
And that is why I don't think pets should be allowed in school.

Amazing Acrostic Poem

Kia ora, and welcome back to my blog!

The Yellow Umbrella

Kia ora and welcome back to my blog.

For this term we are learning about the purist of happiness. We watched this short film it was called the yellow umbrella. We had to write a little chunk of it. The teachers would write a sentence and then we would write it but change it up. The film was about Empathy if you do not know what Empathy means it means putting yourself in other people shoes. I hope you enjoy reading my writing.  What are you happy about?

Here's my writing.

The yellow umbrella

On one stormy morning the door to Miss Elen’s Home for children the door opened widely. The girl slowly entered the orphanage before finding a home for her bright gold yellow umbrella. Not wanting to be seen, Boris quickly whipped his head around the corner so that he was hidden from view.  Standing off to the side, the girl glared at the heartwarming scene as the children rummaged in the box for hidden treasures. The girl plastered a big smile on her face as she watched the young girl playing with the doll like it was her real friend. Her smile slowly vanished as she saw that her umbrella was gone. All she saw were puddles. Her lovely umbrella was gone.

Then we had to go make 2 graphs about the birthday month. After we made the graph we had to put both of them on a goggle drawing. finally we had to make 2 statements   about both of them. I hope you enjoy reading it. What is your Birthday month?

Margaret Mahy

Ki ora welcome back to my blog, I will be showing you  our school trip to Margaret Mahy. All of our teachers were in different bits of town. One teacher was at Victoria square, another one was at the Avon river. One was at Margret Mahy and the other was feeding the eels and looking at the mats . I hope you like reading my school trip to Margaret Mahy.

On the 20th of May we went to Margaret Mahy playground. We went there because our P.B.L is

based on if someone comes to our school they need to know we are in a school in Aotearoa.First me and my group went on the Waka. Before we got on the boat we had to go on the grass so the instructors could teach us how to row. On the boat I got a little bit wet but I think

Everybody had so much fun. After having an amazing time at the waka.

We went over to Victoria

Square.were we learnt about all the cool statues and  what was Victoria square before.` We had a quick morning tea break. We also got a piece of paper and tried to draw a pou with lots of cool designs. It was a bit challenging to draw it but it was so much fun.

After we had an amazing time at Victoria square we went over to Margaret mahy to learn  about the paved pictures on the ground. Me and my friend Found it so interesting because we have never noticed it before. It had a cool song paved into the floor. We walked around to see all the other cool paved things into the floor. Mrs Carney gave us a little treasure hunt to do. It was to find some awesome stuff. Unfortunately my friend and I did not find anything but that is ok. Mrs Carney gave us a bit of paper and we could sketch other the paved designs. It was such a cool thing to look at.

Finally  we went over to Mrs Bryce to feed the eels and to look at the mats. Mrs Byce put us into three groups to feed the eels. I was in the 2nd group so I got to play on the playground. As soon as the first group finished feed’ing the eels my group got to. We feed the eels with cat food but I don't think they mind. We got /a plastic spoon and put the cat food in the water and they should come and eat it. It felt a bit weird but I found it so much fun.after we got to feed the eels. We went to go see the mats. Mrs told us so much interesting stuff about the mats. Everybody had such a fun time at Margaret Mahy. I really want

to go back to my class!

My favourite part of the trip was Feeding the Eels because I have never seen an eel that close before. And I actually got to feed the ells I have never done that before and I was so proud of

myself

Something I learnt was the female eel is so much bigger than the male eel and that there is so many paved things in Margaret mahy

The thing I found the most interesting was that there were 13 mats and that meant different things. We saw 5 mats.

This trip has helped me with my PBL because we got a lot of information about Margaret mahy and we can bring it back to our school and use it for our P.B.L.

Have you ever been on a waka before?

Te reo Pick a Path!

If you have no clue what a Pick a Path is I will explain it to you now. So a Pick a Path is were you have a question and at the bottom of the question will be a right answer or a wrong answer. So you need to read the question at and see what answer is right. You would click on the answer you think is right and then it will tell you if it is right or wrong. You also have to be in present for it to work. That is how you do a Pick a Path. I really enjoy doing Pick a Path because You learn knew things what you have never learnt before. But also at the same time it is really fun. I hope you Learn something from me and have a blast! What is your favourite subject?
