Great Graphs

Kia ora and welcome back to my blog.

This week in maths we have been doing Graphs. This week we have not been in groups. so we did it as a hub. This week our goal is to display using more than one variable, interpret information from graphs plan as a investigation.

We collected  information about all of our birthday months in the hub. 1st we had to sit on the mat, we had to stand up when we heard our birthday then the teacher would write on a goggle sheet how many people had the same birthday month. Then we had to go make 2 graphs about the birthday month. After we made the graph we had to put both of them on a goggle drawing. finally we had to make 2 statements   about both of them. I hope you enjoy reading it. What is your Birthday month?

Margaret Mahy

Ki ora welcome back to my blog, I will be showing you  our school trip to Margaret Mahy. All of our teachers were in different bits of town. One teacher was at Victoria square, another one was at the Avon river. One was at Margret Mahy and the other was feeding the eels and looking at the mats . I hope you like reading my school trip to Margaret Mahy.

On the 20th of May we went to Margaret Mahy playground. We went there because our P.B.L is

based on if someone comes to our school they need to know we are in a school in Aotearoa.First me and my group went on the Waka. Before we got on the boat we had to go on the grass so the instructors could teach us how to row. On the boat I got a little bit wet but I think

Everybody had so much fun. After having an amazing time at the waka.

We went over to Victoria

Square.were we learnt about all the cool statues and  what was Victoria square before.` We had a quick morning tea break. We also got a piece of paper and tried to draw a pou with lots of cool designs. It was a bit challenging to draw it but it was so much fun.

After we had an amazing time at Victoria square we went over to Margaret mahy to learn  about the paved pictures on the ground. Me and my friend Found it so interesting because we have never noticed it before. It had a cool song paved into the floor. We walked around to see all the other cool paved things into the floor. Mrs Carney gave us a little treasure hunt to do. It was to find some awesome stuff. Unfortunately my friend and I did not find anything but that is ok. Mrs Carney gave us a bit of paper and we could sketch other the paved designs. It was such a cool thing to look at.

Finally  we went over to Mrs Bryce to feed the eels and to look at the mats. Mrs Byce put us into three groups to feed the eels. I was in the 2nd group so I got to play on the playground. As soon as the first group finished feed’ing the eels my group got to. We feed the eels with cat food but I don't think they mind. We got /a plastic spoon and put the cat food in the water and they should come and eat it. It felt a bit weird but I found it so much fun.after we got to feed the eels. We went to go see the mats. Mrs told us so much interesting stuff about the mats. Everybody had such a fun time at Margaret Mahy. I really want

to go back to my class!

My favourite part of the trip was Feeding the Eels because I have never seen an eel that close before. And I actually got to feed the ells I have never done that before and I was so proud of

myself

Something I learnt was the female eel is so much bigger than the male eel and that there is so many paved things in Margaret mahy

The thing I found the most interesting was that there were 13 mats and that meant different things. We saw 5 mats.

This trip has helped me with my PBL because we got a lot of information about Margaret mahy and we can bring it back to our school and use it for our P.B.L.

Have you ever been on a waka before?
